The Mississippi State Dept. Health (MSDH) STD/HIV Office is recruiting to fill a
Bureau Director I position located
in Jackson, MS. This position will perform statewide planning and direct program administration
for HIV care and support services, which include all coordination,
collaboration and planning activities required by federal Ryan White (RW) CARE
Act Law as a condition for receipt of Ryan White Part B funding to states. The
position supervises others. Key responsibilities are to conduct needs
assessment to identify HIV related service needs and implements planning
activities to address those needs; Identify population and service trends,
manage the public input process, market program services, identify and attract
new HIV providers, and generate reports to communicate strategies, plans and
outcomes; Facilitate the request for proposals (RFP), memorandum of agreements
(MOA) or sole source procurement processes for delivery of services; Monitor
contracts and provides technical assistance to organizations and agencies
receiving federal or state funding; Conduct training for staff, contractors and
other stakeholders relative to program expectations; Provide input into all
aspects of HIV services delivery, program development and assessment related to
Ryan White CARE Act; Collaborate with other MSDH programs to improve HIV
prevention and access to services.
Annual Salary:
$48,962.51. Qualifications: A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited
four-year college or university; AND Eight (8) years in an administrative,
professional capacity in an area of work related to the functional
responsibility of the bureau in which the position exists, three (3) years of
which must have included line or functional administrative or advanced
technical supervision. (Master’s Degree Preferred). Preferred
Qualifications: The required degree must be in public health, health
education, health planning, or behavioral sciences or other health related
field; and the required experience must include public health practices, group
dynamics, research and evaluation, communicable diseases, guidelines, interpret
data, diverse populations, communicate effectively, needs assessments and
recommendations, and computer skills.
