Parent Educator – Pacific Islander Community Outreach
Children’s Service Society’s Support Service Program is hiring a Parent Educator who has experience with the Pacific Islander culture and is sensitive to the diverse needs of at risk families. The minimum education requirement is a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Social Work, or other human service related fields. The applicant must be an effective communicator and have the ability to work comfortably in the Pacific Islander community, especially in families with young children. The position involves teaching parents with children ages prenatal to kindergarten entry by providing in-home parenting education that includes child development and community resource information. Other responsibilities include: enrolling new families, maintaining accurate and timely records, attending staff and supervisor meetings, accessing ongoing professional development, and raising public awareness about the Children’s Service Society and Home Visitation services.
Pay rate: $14/hr, plus mileage and full benefits
