Position Description
The Center for Student Wellness is seeking a Program Manager to provide leadership and
commitment to wellness promotion and prevention efforts on campus.  This position, in conjunction with the Student Health Center Director & the University Counseling Center Director, is responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing and evaluating health education strategies & activities on campus.

Duties


Assesses the health and wellness needs of the University community; develops and implements health education programming and strategies that promote wellness; utilizing theories and best-practices in establishing priorities.

Identifies highest risk populations within campus environment and implements research- based programming to best address their needs.

Represents SHC and the UCC in the coordination of a campus-wide holistic approach to health promotion and health care.

Collaborates effectively with a broad range of campus departments and offices engaged in prevention-related activities.

Serves on various University, state and community committees involved with wellness issues.

Manages the Center for Student Wellness Office; maintains budgetary responsibility for university budget; as well as state and federal grants; administers current grant awards; identifies potential funding sources and development prospects.

Supervises Center for Student Wellness staff, including, health educators, graphic design student, and health education interns.
Advises and supports numerous student groups.
Oversees the SHC confidential peer education HIV counseling and testing program, including coordination, supervision and evaluation of counseling staff.

Qualifications
Masters degree in health education or related field with at least 2 years of management
experienceDemonstrated assessment, budgetary, and organizationa skills required.  Ability to work well with others and provide leadership within the center. Knowledge of and the ability to apply health education and prevention principles, theories and practices to a campus setting. Ability to work with a diverse student population. Ability to work on own with limited supervision. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Master Certified Health Education Specialist (MCHES) or Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) status preferred.

Work Schedule
40 hours per week; Monday–Friday with some evening and weekend hours.
