TITLE:            Home and Community Program Manager

SALARY:       $30,000

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Utah Safety Council’s Home and Community program provides education for the community to focus on safety outside the workplace.  The Program Manager plans, organizes, and coordinates the implementation of the Utah Safety Council’s Home and Community safety program.  The program includes Take Safety Home and Buckle Up for Love.

The manager develops and achieves yearly program goals as required, and performs other related duties as assigned. The program manager develops new programs based on input from program participants, customers and management and works collaboratively with management to develop a budget for respective programs

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES


Take Safety Home
  • ·      Research and write grant proposals to support and grow program
  • ·      Research and add new materials for home & community safety topics
  • ·      Develop a Public Service Announcement
  • ·      Manage inventory of brochures and incentives
  • ·      Utilize social media to share message
  • ·      Program development and management
  • ·      Write a monthly article about off-the-job safety topics/safety observances
  • ·      Promote the Utah Safety Council’s Home & Community Programs at various business and community events
  • ·      Coordinate Utah Safety Council activities for National Safety Month
  • ·      Give presentations as requested
  • ·      Represent Utah Safety Council at health and safety fairs
  • Occasional weeknight and weekend events required


Buckle up for Love
  • ·      Research and write grant proposals to support and grow program
  • ·      Research and update existing materials
  • ·      Obtain and maintain CPS Technician Certification
  • ·      Send letters to local organizations to help promote the program
  • ·      Manage the Buckle Up for Love Facebook page
  • ·      Look for media opportunities
  • ·      Check BUFL hotline daily and mail information packet to reported individuals once a month
  • ·      Send press releases to promote the program
  • ·      Participate in Safe Kids Coalition meetings
  • ·      Give presentations as requested
  • ·      Occasional weeknight and weekend events required


QUALIFICATIONS
SKILLS/ABILITY TO:

  • Communicate information and ideas clearly and concisely in writing; read and understand information presented in writing
  • Experience with public relations activities is preferred
  • Speak clearly, concisely, and effectively; listen to, and understand, information and ideas as presented verbally
  • Communicate fluently in English
  • Use computer related database software
  • Ability to interact and communicate professionally with peers and support staff

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A bachelor’s degree in fields related to the specialty area described in this announcement, or full-time paid professional employment in fields directly related to the above summary of duties for the required education.  Must be able to interact professionally with peers, support staff, and concerned public and also communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
