Job Characteristics: This position is with the Division of Disease Control and Prevention, Bureau of Epidemiology, Communicable Disease Investigation and Response Program. The primary responsibility will be to work with the Healthcare Associated Infections (HAI) Team to develop accurate and timely HAI reports utilizing data from the National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) and other sources. This will include duties such as regularly exporting data for multiple disease conditions to assess data quality and completeness; data cleaning; data analysis; data interpretation; preparing data for reports in various ways to best meet needs for different audiences; and assisting with non-HAI data analysis needs for the Program and/or other duties as assigned as time permits. Incumbents at this level have knowledge in varied epidemiology topics and an expanded view of epidemiology techniques, events and control measures or specialized expertise in an area of epidemiology.
